The research-based DESSA from Aperture Education provides actionable data to help schools confidently meet students’ individual social-emotional learning needs
Charlotte N.C. (Oct. 8, 2020) — Riverside Insights and Aperture Education have partnered to add Aperture’s entirely strengths-based DESSA social-emotional learning assessment to Riverside Insights’ portfolio of trusted assessments for schools. The partnership between the two companies helps Riverside Insights support schools that are seeking an evidence-based SEL assessment and helps Aperture reach more schools that are serviced by Riverside Insights.
“Research shows data-driven social-emotional learning programs have a positive impact on student mental health, behavior and achievement,” said Jessica Adamson, CEO of Aperture Education. “By obtaining important, timely SEL data through the DESSA, Riverside Insight’s customers will gain confidence by having a practical, accurate and equitable gauge of how they are meeting their students’ individual SEL needs.”
Riverside Insights offers assessment solutions that give schools actionable insights to support student learning and growth. The DESSA is a strengths-based SEL assessment that provides reliable data to help schools measure students’ SEL competence. Data from Riverside Insights’ combined portfolio of assessments provides schools with a complete picture of a student’s learning potential (ability), demonstrated learning (achievement), and SEL competency, which ultimately helps schools support that student’s growth.
“Our goal is to provide comprehensive insights to educators that help them identify and unlock each student’s full potential,” said Rajib Roy, President and CEO of Riverside Insights. “Social-emotional learning is a key pillar to that mission and adding the DESSA to our portfolio helps us take one step closer to that goal.”
